Whether you are new to the world of dermal fillers or have used them in the past, it’s always interesting to learn more about this constantly evolving realm of cosmetic procedures.
Dermal fillers are a minimally invasive way of plumping skin to minimize the appearance of wrinkles and lines while giving a fuller, more youthful appearance. People love dermal fillers because the effect is soft and natural looking, and certainly less invasive than surgery. “Dermal fillers are often used in conjunction with Botox or Dysport, and are an affordable way to take years off your appearance without significant down time,” shares Emily Johnston, dermatology certified Physician Assistant at Sanova Dermatology.
There Is Always Something New
Because the cosmetic industry is fast-moving, there is always something new to report. This is exciting because new products and procedures are constantly being refined and becoming available to give you amazing results.
Restylane is not a new name in the dermal filler world. In fact, Restylane is a trusted, familiar brand. They are constantly innovating and coming up with new iterations of their products and recently announced the FDA approval of one of their latest: Restylane Defyne.
What Makes Defyne Different?
This filler is formulated differently than other Restylane brands, including their other new product: Refyne.
“Restylane Defyne is best used for treating the deep lines and wrinkles that tend to form on the sides of the nose down to the mouth (nasiolabial lines), as well as those that form in the corners of the mouth down the sides of the chin (marionette lines),” explains Emily. According to Galderma, the manufacturers of Restylane, Restylane Defyne is “designed to provide less flexibility and more support.” This is so it can deliver remarkable results on even deep wrinkles that other dermal fillers previously struggled to address. Studies and experience with this filler demonstrated that it can hold up better and longer than other brands.
