Ryan Couvillion, MD

Dr. Couvillion has been practicing since 2018. A graduate of Louisiana State University School of Medicine, he completed General Surgery residency training at Tulane University, one of the oldest general surgery training programs in the country. Before starting medical school, he received a Masters of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology from Tulane University. Dr. Couvillion is a double-board certified surgeon, both by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and by the American Board of Surgery. He completed his 3-year fellowship in plastic surgery at Houston Methodist. Dr. Couvillion specializes in facelift surgery and other facial rejuvenation procedures such as neck lift and blepharoplasty, as well as a range of body procedures including mommy makeovers, breast augmentation, breast lift, liposuction, tummy tucks, and overall body contouring.

Education and Training

While initially pursuing an interest in cell and molecular biology at Tulane University, Dr. Couvillion earned first a Bachelor of Science degree, and then a Master of Science degree. He next chose to continue his education in the New Orleans area by attending medical school at Louisiana State University. During this time, he was selected to join the medical honors society, Alpha Omega Alpha. Following this achievement, he went on to complete a residency at Tulane University Medical School, which is one of the oldest general surgery training programs in the country. After honing his surgical abilities and gaining recognition by the department for his teaching ability, he relocated to Houston to begin a three-year plastic surgery fellowship at Houston Methodist. It was during these final years of training that he learned advanced techniques from some of the nation’s most distinguished aesthetic and reconstructive surgeons.

Dr. Couvillion is Board Certified in Plastic Surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.  He is also Board Certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery.
