Restylane® Silk is a dermal filler that is FDA-approved to treat the lips and areas around the mouth for patients 21 years of age and older. This injectable filler utilizes a unique hyaluronic acid (HA) gel formula with a higher concentration of HA than similar products. Consequently, patients can enjoy longer-lasting results. Restylane® Silk can be used to reverse common signs of facial aging around the mouth and restore lost volume to thinning lips. The fine consistency of Restylane® Silk is ideal for rejuvenating the delicate skin in these areas, and can ultimately create a softer, more youthful appearance.

With Restylane® Silk, patients can effectively minimize fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth including the vertical lines that can form between the edge of the upper lip and the base of the nose. Recovery from Restylane® Silk

Most patients will experience little to no downtime after their Restylane® Silk procedure, though some swelling or bruising may occur at the injection site. To minimize the risk of these side effects, patients can avoid medications such as ibuprofen, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, and aspirin prior to treatment as well as supplements such as St. John’s Wort or vitamin E. In most cases, patients return to their normal daily activities immediately after treatment. Facial rejuvenation with Restylane® Silk can last longer than six months, and results can be easily maintained with follow-up appointments.
