Dr. Sharon S. Meyer is a board-certified dermatologist in Metairie, Louisiana, serving patients across the Greater New Orleans area. She provides comprehensive medical dermatology care for skin, hair, and nail conditions including acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, rashes, and skin cancer. Dr. Meyer combines decades of experience with a patient-centered approach, ensuring accurate diagnosis, effective treatment, and long-term skin health.
Dr. Meyer earned her B.S. (Cum Laude) from Louisiana State University and her M.D. on a full scholarship from Tulane University School of Medicine. She completed her internship at Tulane Affiliated Hospitals in New Orleans, followed by a one-year Fellowship in Clinical Dermatology Research and her dermatology residency at Tulane University School of Medicine.
A former Clinical Assistant Professor at Tulane, Dr. Meyer has also mentored medical students as a Community Preceptor. With more than 30 years of clinical experience, she is recognized for her expertise in skin cancer screenings, acne treatment, eczema care, and dermatologic procedures.
Outside of work, Dr. Meyer enjoys pickleball, golf, and spending time with her family, including her children and grandchildren. She lives locally in New Orleans with her husband, orthopedic surgeon Dr. Richard Meyer.
