Dr. Lewis is a board-certified dermatologist with extensive expertise in Mohs micrographic surgery, cutaneous oncology, and advanced dermatologic surgery. He practices at Sanova Dermatology, where he provides specialized skin cancer diagnosis and treatment for patients throughout the New Orleans and Gulf Coast region.
Prior to entering private practice, Dr. Lewis served as Associate Professor of Dermatology and Director of Dermatologic Surgery at Tulane University School of Medicine. During his tenure, he played a key role in training dermatology residents in Mohs micrographic surgery, post-surgical reconstruction, cutaneous oncology, and cosmetic dermatologic procedures. He also directed the Mohs Surgery section at the Tulane Cancer Center and helped establish the first Mohs surgery center on the Mississippi Gulf Coast while working with Tulane Dermatology Affiliates.
In 2011, Dr. Lewis transitioned into private practice to focus more fully on patient-centered care while continuing his commitment to academic medicine. He remains a Clinical Associate Professor at Tulane University School of Medicine and continues to contribute to resident education in dermatologic surgery.
Dr. Lewis is an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American College of Mohs Surgeons, the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. His clinical interests include Mohs surgery for skin cancer, melanoma and cutaneous oncology, as well as cosmetic dermatologic procedures such as laser surgery, botulinum toxin injections, liposuction, and soft tissue augmentation.
