Kristy Charles, MD is a board-certified dermatologist at Sanova Dermatology in Old Metairie, LA, specializing in medical and procedural dermatology. She helps patients maintain healthy skin, prevent skin cancer, and create clear, personalized treatment plans for adults and children.
Dr. Charles earned her BS in Biochemistry from the University of Michigan, graduating summa cum laude, and her medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine, where she graduated first in her class and was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha. She completed her dermatology residency at the University of Michigan Health System and later served as an associate staff physician at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, focusing on patient care and resident education.
She provides comprehensive care, including skin exams, skin cancer screening and removal, injectables, chemical peels, laser treatments, and facial rejuvenation. She has special expertise in alopecia, pediatric hemangiomas, and advanced dermoscopy for early cancer detection.
Dr. Charles is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, and Women’s Dermatologic Society. Outside of work, she enjoys running, spending time with her family, and her golden retriever, Nola.
