A Sanova Dermatology Update On The Coronavirus

June 23rd, 2025 | By: Admin

Sanova Dermatology is aware of how the current situation with COVID-19 (Coronavirus) is making an impact on everyone’s lives. In an effort to ensure the health and safety of our patients, staff, and providers, we have been consistently evaluating the best practices on routine cleaning and effective disinfecting practices. We have a dedicated internal structure to keep all of our clinics safe and up-to-date with the latest information.

We are currently maintaining our appointments and offering you the best patient care possible, as always. We are closely monitoring the situation and will keep you updated when, and if, situations change.

What Sanova Dermatology Is Doing to Protect Your Health

When patients make their appointments, and with our appointment reminders, patients are asked about symptoms related to COVID-19 infection, such as fever >= 100 degrees, cough, or shortness of breath.  Those who do are advised to reschedule until after the symptoms resolve.  All patients who enter our facilities are asked whether they are experiencing these symptoms. If they are, they will be rescheduled and advised to follow up with primary care provider. All patients will get a temperature check to ensure they do not have a feverWaiting rooms have been reconfigured to ensure 6 feet of distance between seatsSigns have been posted educating patients about COVID-19 and infection-control practicesUnless necessary for a patient’s safety, we ask that patients do not bring any accompanying family members to their appointment.  Patients With Existing Appointments

We highly encourage you to self-monitor your health before deciding to enter the practice. If you are experiencing a fever (>=100 degrees), shortness of breath, a cough, or abnormal fatigue, we ask that you reschedule your appointment to a later date to ensure the safety of our staff and other patients.

If you, or someone in close contact, has recently traveled out of the country or been on a cruise, we also request that you reschedule your appointment for a later date.

Patients planning on getting dermal fillers must do so two weeks before getting their first dose or two weeks post the second dose to have treatment.

Our Higher Risk Patients

It has been noted that patients above the age of 60 and those with pre-existing immune-system compromising or chronic health conditions (ie, heart disease, diabetes, lung disease) are at a higher risk to contract and experience complications due to COVID-19. We highly suggest you evaluate your situation and reschedule your appointment for a future date, if possible.

Those who have recently traveled to and from these states are also highly suggested to reconsider any upcoming unnecessary appointments in order to prevent any potential to spread the infection.

More Information About COVID-19

Based on information from the CDC the main symptoms of Coronavirus consist of a fever, cough, and shortness of breath. They have suggested that if you are feeling these symptoms, it is best to seek medical attention immediately.

Best Practices To Prevent Spread Of The Virus

The CDC has made recommendations on the best way to avoid acquiring or spreading the virus.

How It Spreads

The virus is known to spread from person-to-person
Typically due to close contact, those within 6 feet of each otherCoughs and sneezes are said to be the most common way to transmit the virus

Steps Of Precaution

Washing your hands is one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of the virus.
It is suggested that you wash your hands with warm water for at least 20 seconds. If unable to wash your hands, hand sanitizers containing a minimum of 60% alcohol can help kill bacteria.Avoid touching your face, eyes, nose, and mouth with uncleaned hands.
    Avoid Unnecessary Close Contact
Avoid close contact with anyone who is sick or is experiencing known virus symptomsKeep a distance of at least 6 feet between you and others, especially if COVID-19 has been confirmed in your area.

How You Can Help Protect Others

Stay home if you are feeling sick or any known COVID-19 symptoms.Cover your mouth when coughing or sneezing
Utilize a tissue or your elbow to contain coughs or sneezesDispose of tissues quickly and effectivelyWash your hands (soap and water for 20 seconds) or sanitize (with a product that has at least 60% alcohol)  as quickly as possible after coughing or sneezing
Wear a facemask if experiencing symptoms
Masks have been said to only be necessary for those who are experiencing the symptoms of the virus and minimize the potential of it spreadingIt is also important that any caretakers of those with the virus wear a facemask to amplify precaution
    Clean & Disinfect Regularly
Clean commonly touched surfaces regularly (including light switches, countertops, chairs, doorknobs, etc.)Check the current list of disinfectants that are approved for COVID-19
