Is CoolSculpting For The Arms An Option For Me?

June 23rd, 2025 | By: Admin

When it comes to “problem” areas of the body, arms are often at the top of the list. This is particularly true as we age. It seems that no matter how much you exercise or diet that extra bit of fat in the upper arm area refuses to budge. You can have a healthy, fit and strong body and still not get rid of it.

Is CoolSculpting For Arms A Solution?

“It’s a definite option,” says Dr. Miriam Hanson, dermatologist and cosmetic expert at Sanova Dermatology. “CoolSculpting has traditionally been used for the abdominal and thigh areas, however it has recently been FDA-approved for use on the arms, as well.” Until this point, treatment of the arms was considered an “off-label” use, which just means that it is different than its intended use. This is common among many medical treatments and procedures, like Asprin for heart disease and Botox for non-‘eleven’ forehead lines.

Is CoolSculpting For Arms Right For Me?

It depends. What many people think of as “fat” arms is really just loose skin in the upper arm area. If this is what you’re experiencing, CoolSculpting is not a solution for loose, sagging skin. For this, you may want to consider a a skin tightening procedure.

If, however, your problem is stubborn fat that won’t go away with proper diet and exercise, CoolSculpting can be an excellent solution. “It’s non-invasive and doesn’t require any real downtime,” Dr. Hanson says.

If you think you may be a good candidate for CoolSculpting, then the next step is a consultation with a professional who can help determine if CoolSculpting will work for you, or whether you would benefit from a different treatment.
