Celebrities with Psoriasis: 5 Celebrities Dealing With The Skin Condition

June 23rd, 2025 | By: Admin

Psoriasis affects millions of people. In fact, some research suggests that it affects nearly 7.5 millions Americans. So if you suffer from this skin condition, rest assured that you’re not alone – celebrities with Psoriasis must deal with the daily struggles as well.

“Psoriasis is a skin condition that causes skin cells to build up,” says Dr. Adam Mamelak, board certified dermatologist in Austin, Texas. “This can form scales and itchy, dry patches. This condition typically runs in families but can come and go throughout your lifetime.”

“Although we talk about predisposing factors, family history and triggers, psoriasis can happen to anyone,” says Dr. Miriam Hanson, board-certified dermatologist at Sanova Dermatology. Psoriasis can develop in people from all walks of life, often struggling to keep private their very public disease. Even in Hollywood, where the pressure to look perfect is a daunting task, many celebrities talk about how exceptionally stressful it is to deal with outbreaks.

Five celebs who are outspoken about their skin:

1.La La Anthony is doing more than just telling her story of dealing with psoriasis, but rather wants to inspire others with the condition to not be ashamed and embrace themselves. La La has actually teamed up with the National Psoriasis Foundation for their Picture Positivity campaign, working to spread awareness and remove the stigma of suffering from psoriasis. La La knows a great deal about psoriasis and wants to help others. Interestingly, one of her best friends is Kim Kardashian, who also deals with the condition.

2. Kim Kardashian, a reality TV star, was diagnosed with psoriasis in 2011. Her diagnosis was the focus of one of the episodes of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, where she talked about her condition. Kim takes a different approach than La La Anthony, using various makeups to help conceal her condition when it is flaring up. At the same time, she has said: “I have psoriasis, there is nothing I can do about it so there is no reason why I should feel uncomfortable.” She feels more pressure to look perfect, since much of her career is based on various photo shoots and her looks.

3. LeAnn Rimes was diagnosed with psoriasis at the tender age of 2. The country singer at one point had 80% of her body covered in lesions. As an award-winning singer, she also felt a great deal of pressure to always look her best, and that meant that hiding her condition was always of utmost importance. But now, after years of dealing with the condition, Rimes has embraced her psoriasis and understands her triggers: “Stress impacts my psoriasis. Learning to manage stress—especially in my line of work—has been key to ensuring I feel my best.”

4. Eli Roth, director and actor, also suffers from psoriasis. At one point, he contracted a flesh-eating disease. Because he already suffered from psoriasis, it exacerbated the skin on the legs, causing him severe pain and bleeding. But instead of dwelling on his bad luck, he channeled his experience into the horror movie Cabin Fever. For Eli, it’s just a part of daily life and so he deals with it, using it for inspiration when he can.

5. Finally, comedian and actor Jon Lovitz also has psoriasis. At one point in time, 75% of his skin was covered with psoriasis, and he had to deal with itchy, bleeding, flaking, and cracking skin all over his body. But Jon has found comfort and healing through the help of a dermatologist. After trying to hide his condition like many others, he sought the help of a professional and has never looked back. Jon’s advice to anyone with psoriasis is: “don’t be embarrassed. See a dermatologist. A lot of people with psoriasis give up, but don’t. Find out what works best for you.”
