How Can CO2 Help Your Skin?

June 23rd, 2025 | By: Admin

The CO2RE system was developed by a company called Syneron Candela that specializes in innovative treatments for a number of dermatology issues. CO2RE was designed to address a number of issues, including scar treatment, wrinkles, pigmentation, and more.

What’s So Different About CO2RE CO2?

“CO2RE is like the multitasker of scar treatments,” shares Angie Pennington, a licensed medical aesthetician, and certified laser technician at Sanova Dermatology in Austin, Texas. “It allows for the treatment of superficial, middle and deep skin layers while addressing the skin resurfacing that may be required as part of a comprehensive treatment plan,” she continues. If you are unfamiliar with what fractionated skin resurfacing is, it involves removing layers of skin damaged by sun, discoloration or wrinkles by using laser technology which allows for incredible precision and great long-lasting results.

The CO2 technology allows your skincare practitioner to literally get “deep down” into the scar tissue to help break up and treat inner scar trauma while also treating the superficial layers so that the outer appearance of the scar is minimized and is less noticeable.

CO2RE also stimulates collagen production and skin cell growth. This option allows for your body to heal itself naturally. The treatment jump starts the collagen and skin cells to complement the immediate results of the treatment. Patients typically see stunning and dramatic results after just one treatment.

What Can I Expect After My Visit?

“Healing usually takes between 3 and 10 days,” states Pennington. As a general rule, the bigger the treatment area and the deeper the laser, the longer the recovery time. During recovery, your skin may be extremely red, scab over, and peel. You can use ice packs to help reduce any swelling and vinegar soaks to promote healing.
