It’s the perfect time to bring skincare and self care into your daily routine!

June 23rd, 2025 | By: Admin

If you’ve been feeling stir crazy sitting at home and stressing about the state of the world and COVID-19, you are not alone! As crazy as times are right now, most people have more free time than they have ever had before. If you’ve been looking for a way to use that extra time each day productively, then self-care through skincare is the perfect answer. You can take a skin care specialist training course to improve your knowledge on skin care that you can personally use, or even start a new career.

Our skin is one of the most important parts of our body and identity. It helps to form the interface between ourselves and the world around us. Therefore, it’s important that we not take it for granted, and that’s why using different treatments can help, and nonsurgical aesthetic medical services are a great choice for this. Even though our world has been flipped upside down, our skin still needs the attention and care that it deserves. “Cleansing the skin twice a day is an integral part of taking care of our skin so that it can take care of us for years to come,” notes Christy Williams, licensed medical aesthetician at our Poole Dermatology location in Metairie, Louisiana. “Cleaning the skin on our face and body not only allows us to look our best on the outside but also feel our best on the inside,” she continues.

In addition to keeping the skin clean on the outside through the use of gentle cleansers, it’s just as important to keep the skin moisturized and well-hydrated from within by drinking water generously and utilizing a gentle moisturizer every day. The Institute of Medicine recommends that the average adult drink approximately ten to thirteen cups of water per day to keep the skin and the rest of the body well-hydrated and well-functioning. “Additionally, gentle moisturizers that are applied to the body can help with keeping the skin well-moisturized and soft,” Williams says.

In addition to incorporating the extremely important practices of skin cleansing, staying hydrated, and using moisturizers, this is also the perfect time to experiment with masks and at-home treatments for your skin. Anti-aging serums are also great to try, and can help the skin feel nice and youthful. However, while trying new products, be cautious and make sure that you are using quality products. “It is important to read reviews and other people’s experiences to make sure that the product is safe, and if you are ever concerned, make sure to reach out to your dermatologist,” Williams urges. Those who are looking for a quicker way to fight the signs of skin aging, you may consider a Facelift Cosmetic Procedure.

While the world may be flipped upside down because of COVID-19, now is the perfect time to incorporate healthy skincare habits into your new schedule and lifestyle. If you are able to implement regular skin cleansing, proper hydration, moisturizer use, and new products into your life, you’ll see that skincare is one of the best forms of self-care!
