Makeup for Problematic Skin

June 23rd, 2025 | By: Admin

Selecting the right products for your skin can be challenging. Many ingredients found in cosmetics and skin care can trigger acne and other skin issues. When selecting your makeup, look at the custom cosmetic packaging and check for the different ingredients, as you should consider makeup an extension of your skin care regimen. I often ask: how can this product benefit my skin, and provide nutrients to keep it clear and bright?

Traditional Makeup

Clogged pores are often the culprit for acne breakouts caused by skin and personal care products. “Many companies focus on offering more aesthetically pleasing products, while sacrificing essential components and ingredients that can benefit your skin’s health.

Cosmetics often contain unnecessary and synthetic ingredients to fill in the gaps in consistency or coverage of their products. Talc, for example, is a common ingredient found in traditional cosmetics and is used for “bulking” up a product. This ingredient is also known to accentuate the wrinkles in the skin and clog pores. Traditional makeup can also be harsh on individuals with sensitive skin. All the more reason to find the right makeup for you is.

Mineral Makeup

Mineral makeup is known for its natural properties and often contains vitamins, antioxidants, and even SPF. Glo Minerals has crafted a great line of mineral makeup that, while offering great coverage, is able to help improve the appearance of conditions like rosacea and acne-prone skin. The active ingredients in Glo actually soothe the skin and help avoid acne breakouts. This makeup line focuses all-natural and non-comedogenic ingredients, meaning that it does not block pores. This not only decreases breakouts but also calms inflammation and redness that occurs with other products.

How does Glo Minerals differ from the other mineral makeup out there? Glo offers complete transparency in the ingredients used in its line. They avoid questionable ingredients like parabens, mineral oil, and gluten.” Many patients are also content knowing  Glo Minerals is a cruelty-free line as well.

Green Tea Extract and Vitamins A, C, and E are used as antioxidants, battling free radicals, inflammation, and preserving the skin from sun damage. Most of their products also contain Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide, further protecting the skin form the sun’s UV rays.
