Acne is extremely common, especially amongst adolescents and young adults. With inflammatory acne lesions, or if you tend to pick at your blemishes and bumps, scars can be created in the skin. Some acne scar can be permanent, but thankfully, a number of new treatments have been developed specifically to address these marks. Micro-needling, the revolutionary treatment that uses the body’s own natural healing mechanisms, has proven its ability to minimize and potentially remove these unwanted marks from the face and skin.
Micro-needling employs ultra thin, high-gauge medical grade needles to induce microscopic perforations the skin. This technique directly stimulates the skin’s collagen to rebuild itself. It is important to remember that response from the treatment can take time, as many can be discouraged after not seeing immediate results. Four to six treatments are often recommended to achieve optimal results.
