This deprives the wart of oxygen and nutrients it needs to survive but does not cause any harm to nearby tissues.
Numbing medicine is often applied or administered prior to the procedure, to ensure absolute comfort. “Patients say it each pulse feels like the skin is being hit by a rubber band, followed by a mild burning sensation,” Dr. Reed shares. A series of treatments three or four weeks apart is usually needed to completely destroy the wart.
