Qbrexza As A Treatment Option For Hyperhidrosis

June 23rd, 2025 | By: Admin

Hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating, affects an estimated 2-3% of the American population. Hyperhidrosis can be a symptom of other diseases, but most cases occur in perfectly healthy individuals. Some common causes of hyperhidrosis are body temperature and emotions, but many who suffer from hyperhidrosis sweat no matter the weather or their mood. If excessive sweating is disrupting any facets of your social life, consider contacting a physician.

Luckily, there are several treatment options for hyperhidrosis, which range from over-the-counter antiperspirants to laser removal surgery. For those who want a simpler or less invasive solution, there is Qbrexza.

What Is Qbrexza?

“Qbrexza is a cloth containing anticholinergic medicine that can be applied non-invasively to treat hyperhidrosis, specifically in the underarm area,” notes Kristy Charles, a board-certified dermatologist at Sanova Dermatology in Uptown, Louisiana.

What Are The Potential Side Effects?

The most common side effects of Qbrezxa are relatively mild; they include throat pain, headache, blurred vision, and dryness in the mouth, nose, eyes, and skin.  That being said, Qbrexza should not be taken if you have a medical condition that could be exacerbated by using an anticholinergic drug. These conditions include glaucoma, severe ulcerative colitis, myasthenia gravis, and Sjogren’s syndrome. Because anticholinergic drugs affect the body’s production of liquids, taking Qbrexza may affect other bodily functions. Consult your healthcare provider if you have bladder problems, are pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, or are nursing or are planning to nurse.

When taking Qbrexza, be sure to watch out for symptoms such as difficulty urinating, urinating frequently, weak urination, or trouble emptying your bladder. In some cases, Qbrexza will work too well and decrease sweating in areas outside of the underarm, which could potentially cause you to become overheated or develop heat illness.
