Should You Try Microneedling For Rejuvenation?

June 23rd, 2025 | By: Admin

Rejuvenate literally means “to make young again”. While eighteen again might be a stretch, a number of treatments can restore your skin to a more youthful state. One of these techniques, microneedling for skin rejuvenation, has gained popularity in recent years. “You probably have seen articles about it in beauty magazines and online,” says Dr. Kellie Reed, board certified Dermatologist at Sanova Dermatology. Before and after pictures fill magazines and  advertisements for spas, not to mention the at home “dermal rollers”.

Many refer to the treatment, perhaps more accurately, as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT). “Tiny needles puncture the skin, creating small wounds that the body responds to by healing itself,” explains Dr. Reed. These healing mechanisms are one of the ways the body can build and induce collagen formation.

The new collagen helps to reduce wrinkles, minimize scars, and improve skin tone, as well as among other benefits.  CIT typically requires multiple treatments to achieve the best results. It isn’t an immediate fix; it takes time for collagen to be formed and plump up the skin and improve appearance. But it is an effective tool in the right hands.

Even though some of these devices are available to the general public, professionals strongly recommend a visit to someone who has been specially trained in this procedure. The chance for infection and other complications is not worth the risk.

There are advantages to Morpheus8 RF microneedling like this microneedling in Millersville, MD or microneedling in Delray Beach, FL and many have seen improvements in their skin after treatments. Contact an expert such as Westover Hills Dermatology in San Antonio, TX for more information or to schedule a consultation.
