What is dyshidrotic eczema?

Dyshidrotic eczema (or dyshidrotic dermatitis) is a form of skin inflammation characterized by small, itchy blisters on the sides of the fingers, palms, and the soles of the feet. These blisters, caused by accumulation of inflammatory fluid, are frequently followed by red and scaling skin.

How is dyshidrotic eczema treated?

Topical corticosteroid creams, which decrease inflammation and reducing itch
Light therapy
Intradermal injections of botulinum toxin, also known as BOTOX®
Reduction of contact irritants and water exposure
