Your skin naturally contains hyaluronic acid, a sugar that attracts water and gives the skin its plumpness and volume. As we age, we lose hyaluronic acid, causing our faces to get more angular, smile lines around the mouth to become more prominent, and the corners of our mouth to begin to droop.

At your first session, your cosmetic dermatology provider will examine your skin and discuss your medical history. The JUVÉDERM injections themselves take only a few minutes.

There is typically little to no downtime after JUVÉDERM. Side effects such as redness, swelling, bruising, or mild discomfort may occur, but these are minor and temporary.

JUVÉDERM results can last up to a year.

A local anesthetic is usually administered with the filler to ensure you are comfortable during the brief treatment, with most patients experiencing very minimal discomfort.
